Speaker Announcement: Robin Christopherson MBE Joins the Inclusion and AI Forum

The Apprenticeship Diversity and Social Mobility Forum is delighted to announce Robin Christopherson MBE as a confirmed speaker for our forthcoming online Forum on Inclusion and AI.

Robin is Head of Digital Inclusion at AbilityNet and a globally recognised expert on accessibility, inclusive design and the power of technology to transform people's lives.

As a blind technology user, Robin brings both professional expertise and lived experience to the discussion. He is a passionate advocate for ensuring that digital products and services are accessible, inclusive and easier for everyone to use.

Ensuring AI works for everyone

As AI changes how people access services, complete tasks and participate in the workplace, accessibility must be considered from the outset.

Robin will explore the opportunities AI could create for disabled people and others who face barriers to digital participation. He will also consider the risks of developing AI-powered services that do not recognise the diversity of people's voices, needs and experiences.

His contribution will help delegates consider:

• How AI can improve accessibility and independence
• Why inclusive design benefits employees and customers
• The potential for AI to remove or unintentionally create barriers
• How employers can build accessibility into digital transformation
• The skills and awareness teams need to use AI inclusively

A founding member of AbilityNet, Robin regularly advises businesses, government and third-sector organisations. He received an MBE for services to digital inclusion and was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Suffolk in recognition of his work in assistive technology and digital accessibility.

Robin joins Professor Dr Nisreen Ameen of Royal Holloway, University of London, as part of an expert programme examining the relationship between AI, skills, opportunity and inclusion.
